ADREMIA was the Transitional Orientation Programme (TOP) for NTU’s School of Art, Design & Media (ADM) in 2023. I was appointed as the media head of Adremia’s Publicity and Publications committee, leading a multi-video transmedia project to tell the story and lore behind Adremia.
I directed and did post-production for the teaser trailer, as well as four out of seven of the live-action short films. I also did the sound design and dialogue cleanup for the animated trailer. Lastly, I led a small team of videographers and photographers to cover the four-day event, and edited and screened a highlights video by the end of the last day.
Big Brains is a Mediacorp webseries which was a collaboration between Singapore Polytechnic, Bloomr.SG and Wah!Banana.
I worked with three cohorts of Creative Writing for TV & New Media (now Story & Content Creation) students and alumni to produce the three 8-minute pilot episodes. On set, I collaborated with the director and gaffer to plan and execute a stylised yet consistent visual tone over the five days of principal photography.
The episodes were released on Mediacorp's YouTube channel in November 2022.
DEER was a short film made in 50 hours for ADM Film Rush 2023. The film had to include one of three dialogue options, of which the line chosen for this film was "Why are you carrying a hammer? It's not even..."
The film won the Best Directing and Best Sound awards after being judged by a panel of industry veterans.
a hundred and eighty seconds was a short film that was made for ADM's Foundation 4D module, under the theme "Looking Forward".
This short film was essentially made by a crew of one — myself, starring me, myself and my girlfriend, for a budget of $0. Written as a phone-call drama with sci-fi elements, partially inspired by Arrival (2016), the film asks the question: if you received a call from the future — a warning to change something in your life — would you listen?
This project was a culmination of all the filmmaking skills I had acquired thus far: writing, acting, cinematography, editing, some simple VFX and even scoring the film; only receiving additional help for the colour grade. It was filmed across three separate days and edited in a week.
